Since graduation, I attended University of Richmond 2 years on football scholarship. After the school fired the head coach 2 years straight, I lost motivation and transferred to FSU, where I finished my degree.
I worked in the corporate world for several years until finding my true calling - Firefighter.
Became Firefighter/Paramedic in 1993 and worked my way up the ladder. Now, I head the Arson/Bomb Squad/Internal Affairs division of the Orlando Fire Department. We are a full time investigative division handling fire investigations, explosive ordinance, and internal affairs for OFD. We are also law enforcement officers and have full arrest authority.
It is a rewarding career with many exciting situations!

School Story:

I enjoyed the time spent with my buddies playing sports and hanging out. Most of our parents were also friends, which made it fun to get together. The Shoemaker's, Batteiger's, Degroot's, Keener's, Tomlin's to name a few.

One event I will never forget was when Bob Shoemaker, Mike Keener, Steve Tomlin and I went to get a sub on a weekend evening and returned to Shoe's house. While at the sub shop Bob knocked his leg against the corner of a table and got a nasty bruise. Upon our return, he iced his leg while sitting in front of the TV. The Colonel (his Dad Sam) walked in and saw his leg. He thought we got in a fight or something and didn't buy the story of the table. His response, I'll never forget.... "Son, I've been Killed, Shot at, and Ran over by Tanks.... that ain't no bruise from a F'in table! We all fell out laughing!! Sam called 'em like he saw 'em...
